Mental Health is an integral and essential component of health. It is fundamental to our collective and individual ability as humans to think, emote, interact with each other, earn a living and enjoy life. On this basis, the promotion, protection and restoration of mental health can be regarded as a vital concern of individuals, communities and societies throughout the world. Mental health promotion involves actions that improve psychological well-being. This may involve creating an environment that supports mental health.
Mental Wellness is more than just an absence of mental illness. It is a positive state of mental health. You are able to think, feel and act in ways that create a positive impact on your well-being, both physical and social. Sustaining mental health requires time and effort. The more you invest in your mental health, the stronger it will become.

Achieving good mental health will enable you to realise your own abilities, cope with the stress and challenges of life, engage in productive work and contribute to your community. There are many ways in which one can enhance their mood, build resilience, and get more out of life.

    • Avoid other harmful substances
    • Build strong relationships
    • Make time for family and friends and share life’s joys and sorrows with them
