Founder of Tantuvi meaning Weaver in Sanskrit, an initiative to revive weaving traditions of Benares in 1998. A student of history and political science from Loretto College, Kolkata and Sophia College, Mumbai who feels passionately about the weaving traditions of India and has attempted to better the lives of hundreds of artisans in the last twenty years through the initiative.
She was awarded Nari Shakti Award for the year 2018 by the Government of India in recognition of her contribution in the Handloom-Weaving Industry. Additionally, she is a trustee in Jnana-Pravaha, an organization providing a platform for critical thinking and intellectual rigor in aspiring individuals by creative exchange of ideas. She opened the doors of their parent institution in Mumbai, thus taking it one step ahead.
